Since its establishment in 2012, Guangdong International Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector has gone through weal and woe in ten golden years. With ten years of wind and rain along ten years of spring and autumn, our members, fighting from the endeavours, surpassing from the fighting and breaking out from the surpassing, have witnessed every step of the great changes of the era. At this moment, we are embracing unprecedented opportunities for development at the new start point where we carry forward our cause and forge ahead into the future.

With a magnificent historical vision and insightful strategic vision, The 20th National Congress of the the Communist Party of China revealed great changes, determined great goals, and led a great campaign, it even pinpointed the central task of promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation on all fronts through Chinese-style modernization by outlining the magnificent blueprint for the full construction of a modern socialist country. To realize this ambitious blueprint, we must adhere to economic construction as the center and development as the first priority. In the 2023 Government Work Report, the word "development" appeared 11 times, and such words were put forward as "encouraging and supporting the development and growth of the private economy and private enterprises", "supporting the development of the real economy", and "focusing on high-quality development", as emphasized the necessity to protect the property rights of private economy and rights & interests of private entrepreneurs in accordance with the law, and to encourage and support the private economy and private enterprises to grow stronger, which provide a wider space and growth stage for the private economy.

"If we grasp this year, even the next five years in a down-to-earth manner, and then keep cultivating for another 10 years, even 30 years, we will definitely be able to create a new Guangdong and in which another new miracle will make the world sit up and salute " said Secretary Huang Kunming of the Provincial Party Committee at the Provincial High-Quality Development Conference. "As the Secretary said, Guangdong has laid a very solid foundation in quantity accumulation over the past more than 40 years, and it has comprehensively surpassed the "Four Asian Tigers" .Now, Although the quantity growth has reached a plateau, the quality breakthrough is still in the brewing stage, with a main quality gap between us and developed economies. So as long as quality breakthroughs are improved, a quantity surge will be ushered in, which will open up a new round of development and surpassing. For private entrepreneurs, this is a historical opportunity once in a blue moon. "Opportunity" must be grasped firmly through high-quality development, and only by which can we break out of the top, break through to the new.

Grass toughens after surviving the strongest wind. China is such a country with strong economic resilience that its economy is rapidly recovering after the epidemic, with the PMI index rebounding quickly, so as to offer the best investment opportunity in the world. The prospect of China's economy, described by Premier Li Keqiang's confident overview,is just like the wind and waves, filled with a promising future. Under the powerful guarantee of macro policies and a favorable business environment, there are still many new fields and new tracks to be explored, which hold great development opportunities for a lot contribution of the private economy.

Opportunity is reserved to those who are prepared, and success is belong to those who have taken action. In the new year, Guangdong International Chamber of Commerce for the Private Sector will surely keep upright and innovative by making extensive contacts with foreign-oriented private enterprises in our province and business associations at home and abroad, by actively expanding Chamber of Commerce team to break through the layers of resistance with the courage of struggle, and to gather the power of development with enthusiastic spirit, finally becoming a new tinder for regional development, a new force for reform and opening up, and a new support for China's economy.
